Originally I completed a BA in Fashion Design but I quickly realised that I didn't have a robust enough personality to survive in that industry! From there I became a jewellery-designer, selling my work locally, but eventually came full circle and back to fabric. I am predominantly an art quilter but I dabble in contemporary and modern quilting and am starting to combine all three in some pieces of work.
I have a deep interest in the use of art to help various mental and physical conditions and I teach regular classes in creativity for wellbeing at a local charity. I am also working towards reflecting more of my own experiences through my quilting and my recent commission for the Quilters' Guild's 40th birthday exhibition is an expression of my journey through mental ill health and towards greater creativity and confidence.
