I joined the quilters guild on recommendation of an embroiderer friend and she was right, I love the guild. I find the annual festival at the NEC a real inspiration which fires me up for the next 12 months. Although I am still at the beginning of my quilting life, having only put together a handful of quilts, I love it. I particularly enjoy creating pictorial quilts so in 2019 I am going to join the Journal Quilt Challenge with the Contemporary quilters which I hope will help me to develop my craft and creativity.
I also embroider for fun and love machine free motion embroidery as well as the contemplative nature of hand embroidery.
I am lucky to now include creative stitch in my work life, I run workshops and social stitch sessions from my home and visit venues and groups on request. You can find out more about my business Stitching Kitchen on my website http://www.stitchingkitchen.co.uk
