Cambridge Quilters have had a busy autumn with their annual sales day at Grantchester, cot and fidget quilts. The sales day raffle quilt made by Elaine Haynes raised more than £1000 for the National Autistic Society. The lucky winner bought her ticket at Duxford so the quilt has travelled to its new home in Grimsby.
In December forty festive cot quilts were taken to the Rosie to be put on the cots on Christmas morning. A great way to brighten the unit and provide a keepsake for the parents and babies cared for that day.
A number of fidget quilts are now in two local homes, including Langdon House in Cambridge, for those suffering from dementia and they would love more. Fidget quilts are a great way to us up all those trimmings that are filling your sewing boxes – and you can let your creativity run wild!
