What a delightful relaxed afternoon Quilters and WI members enjoyed at the Garden Party at Queen Adelaide on July 3.
There was plenty of tea and cakes and conversation flowed with members exchanging ideas and discussing the exciting display of quilts on the washing line.
Melanie Missin showed us how she makes her wonderful flowers and for those daring enough handed over her soldering iron for ‘have a go’. She also showed her dyed fabric and was able to pass on hints on how it is done.
We had Amanda Wesson with her bead jewellery to provide another corner of interest in the garden and the studio was open for the art exhibition to be viewed.
Financially it was a very successful afternoon with a profit of £260.60 for Region 9 funds.
Thank you very much to everyone who helped with the event and thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy the sunshine and eat cake!
